Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday announced their 17-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, which is set to begin on July 10.

Charith Asalanka will lead the team in the three-match series, while former captain Dasun Shanaka has been recalled after nearly a year. Shanaka last played a T20I in July 2024. All-rounder Chamika Karunaratne has also made a return to the squad.

Meanwhile, Bhanuka Rajapaksa has been dropped following his disappointing performance in New Zealand, where he scored just 14 runs in two T20Is.

The squad includes key players such as Pathum Nissanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, and Maheesh Theekshana. Eshan Malinga, who impressed in the IPL, has also been included and is expected to form a strong pace attack with Nuwan Thushara and Matheesha Pathirana.

The three T20I matches will be played on July 10, 13 and 16 in Pallekele, Dambulla, and Colombo, respectively.

Sri Lanka recently defeated Bangladesh 1-0 in the two-match Test series. The ODI series is currently level at 1-1, with the third and final game set to be played on Tuesday in Pallekele.
