Privacy
Short version: you can play everything here without telling us who you are, we hold no payment details because no money changes hands, and the only personal thing we can ever store is an email address you typed in on purpose.
What we set in your browser
One cookie, wy_v, holding a random identifier and nothing else. It is how your board survives a refresh and how your streak is counted. It lasts 400 days. We mirror the same identifier into localStorage so a cleared cookie does not wipe your streak.
We also store your finished puzzles and stats in localStorage so the site works offline once a puzzle has loaded.
What we store on our side
Against that random identifier: which puzzles you played, your guesses, whether you solved them, and your streak. Also a timezone, if your browser offers one, purely so a daily reminder arrives at a sensible hour.
If you give us an email address, we store the address, and we link it to your identifiers so your streak follows you between devices. That is the entire purpose.
What we never do
We do not take payments, hold funds, or run any contest with a prize, so there is no financial data here to lose. We do not sell or share your data. We do not publish player photographs. We do not require an account for anything.
Two kinds of email exist: a one-time login code you asked for, and a daily reminder you double opted into. Every reminder carries a one-click unsubscribe and we send nothing else to that list.
Analytics and advertising
We count page views and game events against your random identifier so we can tell whether people come back. Raw event rows are deleted after 90 days.
Where advertising is enabled, an ad network may set its own cookies. In the EU and UK, nothing personalised loads until you consent through the banner. You can withdraw consent at any time from that banner.
Deleting everything
Clear this site's cookies and site data and the anonymous identity is gone. If you gave us an email, write to us and we will delete the account and everything attached to it.
