The Pakistan Shaheens are all set to return to Darwin for the third straight year as part of the 2025 Top End T20 Series, which will take place from August 14 to 24. The team will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh ‘A’ on Pakistan’s Independence Day (August 14) at TIO Stadium.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially confirmed the team’s participation, marking a continued commitment to giving young and emerging players valuable international exposure.

This year’s tournament will feature 11 teams playing a total of 36 T20 matches across five venues in Australia: TIO Stadium, DXC Arena, Gardens Oval, Cazaly’s Arena, and Freds Pass. More match and schedule details will be announced soon.

In past editions, the Shaheens have performed consistently. They reached the final in 2023 and made it to the semi-final last year, showing steady progress in this competitive tournament.

PCB’s Chief Operating Officer, Sumair Ahmed Syed, emphasized the importance of this event in player development.

“We are pleased to confirm Pakistan Shaheens’ participation in the Top End T20 Series for the third consecutive year. This tournament continues to serve as a platform for our emerging cricketers to gain valuable exposure and experience in competitive conditions,” he said in a statement.

On the other hand, Gavin Dovey, CEO of Northern Territory Cricket, expressed his excitement about welcoming teams back to Darwin.

“We are once again delighted to welcome our good friends the PCB and BCB to Darwin where it is an honour and privilege to host two genuine giants of the game,” he said in a statement.

In last year’s edition, the Shaheens had a strong group-stage run. They opened with a win against the Perth Scorchers, followed by a loss to the Melbourne Stars. They bounced back with victories over Tasmania, the Melbourne Renegades, Bangladesh ‘A’, and the Australian Capital Territory, which helped them reach the semi-finals, where they eventually lost to the Adelaide Strikers.

Confirmed teams for the 2025 Top End T20 Series so far:
