Surrey:

A demolition job of the Lancashire Lightning was the way the London County got started this season, as they beat the Red Roses by 59 runs to get their campaign underway.

Jason Roy wound back the clock while Tom Curran was explosive at the death with contributions from Sam Curran and Ollie Pope too, their bowling saw Reece Topley and Yousef Majid impress.

Players to Watch:

Middlesex:

Noah Cornwell – his left-arm pace was the pick of the bowling for Middlesex, having bowled a maiden as well, with Cornwell picking up 2/25 in his four overs.

Adam Rossington – having signed a T20-only deal with Middlesex, Adam Rossington was off to a wonderful start, scoring 79 off just 43 balls, keeping them in the hunt until he was dismissed.

Luke Hollman – he missed out with the bat, but was impressive with the ball, as the leg-spinner took 1/30 to start his season even as Sam Billings kept going gung-ho.

Surrey:

Yousef Majid – the left-arm orthodox bowler was expensive, but his wicket-taking more than made up for it with Yousef Majid returning figures of 3/42 in four overs.

Tom Curran – an excellent first game of the season for the all-rounder, Tom Curran picked up 1/18 off his three overs with the ball after scoring a rapid 20-ball 49 at the death with the bat.
