The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has suspended its top three office-bearers. The Apex Council of the association took the decision to suspend president A Jagan Mohan Rao, secretary R Devraj and treasurer CJ Srinivas Rao at an emergent meeting recently.

The Apex Council released a statement on July 31 stating that action has been taken under the authority of Rule 41(6) and Rule 15(4)(d) of the HCA Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations – 2018. All three office-bearers are currently in police custody on charges of misappropriation of funds and forgery.

The release said the action was taken against the three for “serious charges involving fraud, cheating, misappropriation of funds, and abuse of official position”. Investigating agencies like CID and ED are investigating the allegations.

“The Hyderabad Cricket Association remains committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability. This decision has been taken in the larger interest of safeguarding the association’s credibility and ensuring that due process is followed in a fair and impartial manner,” the release said.

In the absence of president, secretary and treasurer, vice-president Daljeet Singh is discharging duties as acting president.
