The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) has announced the groups for the Over 40s T20 World Cup 2025, which will be held in Karachi from November 21 to December 1.

The tournament, being played in the T20 format for the first time, will feature 12 teams divided into two groups. Group 1 includes hosts Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Hong Kong, Canada and the UAE. Group 2 features Australia, USA, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Saudi Arabia and the Rest of the World XI.

Several former cricket stars are expected to participate, with big names such as Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal likely to take the field. All participating players will be aged over 40.

Pakistan enter the event with a strong record in veterans’ cricket, having won the Over 60s World Cup in Brisbane (2022), the Over 40s Global Cup in Karachi (2023), and the Over 50s World Cup in Colombo (2025).

A total of 42 matches will be played across different venues in Karachi, with all of Pakistan’s fixtures scheduled under floodlights.

The PVCA stated that the event was originally planned for December 1–13 but was moved forward due to the 35th National Games, which will take place in Karachi from December 6–13. The National Games, postponed from their original May date, will involve over 7,000 athletes, officials and technical staff.

Group 1:

Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Hong Kong, Canada, and the UAE.

Group 2:

Australia, USA, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Saudi Arabia and Rest of the World (ROW).
