371- The target of 371 chased down by England is the second highest by them in a fourth innings chase and it also happens to be the second highest against India. The only higher instance for both sides came in the Edgbaston Test in 2022 when England chased 378 in a seven-wicket win. Overall, this is the 14th successful 350+ chase in Tests, three of those coming in Headingley – the only venue with more than one such instance.

352 runshit by England is the second most by a team on the final day of a Test to end up winning the Test behind Australia’s 404 at the same venue in 1948.

835 runs scored by India is the fourth highest by a team in a defeat – three of the four instances have come against England under the Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum era. Their first innings total of 471 is the highest for them batting first that ended in a defeat going past 424 against Australia in Bengaluru in 1998.

7 – Hundreds scored in the Test match by both teams combined – five by India and two by England – is the joint most in a Test in England. There were seven in the Ashes Test in Trent Bridge in 1938

149 by Ben Duckett is the highest ever individual score against India in the fourth innings of a Test surpassing Joe Root’s unbeaten 142 at Edgbaston in 2022. He also became the first English opener to hit a century in the fourth innings since Alastair Cook’s unbeaten 109 against Bangladesh in Mirpur in 2010.

188 – The opening partnership of 188 between Duckett and Zak Crawley is the highest opening stand in the fourth innings. It is also the second highest opening stand for England behind the 203 between Graham Gooch and Michael Atherton in Adelaide in 1991.

1 – Prasidh Krishna became the first bowler to concede 90+ runs at over a run-a-ball in each innings of a Test. He conceded 128 runs in 20 overs at 6.40 in the first innings and 92 in 15 overs at 6.13 in the second innings.
