Katherine Sciver-Brunt will take her first coaching role since retiring after being confirmed as an assistant coach of Trent Rockets Women for the 2026 edition of The Hundred.
The former England seamer, who was awarded an OBE for services to cricket last month, claimed 335 international wickets in a career spanning three decades.
That record stood until Sophie Ecclestone surpassed it at Lord’s just over a week ago.
“The time has come for me to step back into a role within cricket,” said Sciver-Brunt, who played for the Rockets between 2021 and 2023.

“I’ve had a wild three years since retiring trying to figure out what life looks like for me now as a mum.
“The first place I thought of was the Trent Rockets. Trent Bridge is such a special place, and having been involved as a player with the Rockets before, coming back as a coach was an opportunity I just couldn’t turn down.
“I’m moving into a new era, and I know coaching and mentoring players of this standard will be something I’ll love.
“I’m really excited to be on the other side of the fence and to finally come back to The Hundred. I can’t wait to get going and work with this special squad.”

The 41-year-old played the final game of her career for the Rockets in August 2023 and the role reunites her with wife and England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was retained by the Nottingham-based side ahead of this season.
The couple’s son Theo was born in March last year.
Sciver-Brunt will work as an assistant to head coach Chris Read, with former Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme White also joining his staff as fielding coach.
The Rockets’ first home matchday of this year’s competition takes place at Trent Bridge on Sunday July 26.
