Vidarbha struck twice late on Day 4 as Rest of India were reduced to 30 for 2, still 331 runs short of the victory mark, after the Ranji champions folded up for 232 in their second innings courtesy Anshul Kamboj’s 4-fer.

Resuming the day on 96 for 2, Vidarbha were pushed on the back foot early on Saturday. Within the first hour, both the overnight batters, Danish Malewar and Dhruv Shorey, along with Yash Rathod were sent back by Kamboj. Harsh Dubey and Akshay Wadkar revived the innings briefly, but once Dubey fell on 29, another collapse followed.

Wadkar and Darshan Nalkande’s long vigil kept the Rest of India bowlers at bay for a while, but there wasn’t much that they could add to the scorecard, with Gurnoor Brar and Saransh Jain also returning a brace each.

With only about an hour of play left, Rest of India began their chase, but lost both their openers, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Aaryan Juyal, before stumps were taken on the penultimate day.

Brief Scores: Vidarbha 342 & 232 (Aman Mokhade 37, Akshay Wadkar 36; Anshul Kamboj 4-34, Gurnoor Brar 2-31) lead Rest of India 214 (Rajat Patidar 66, Abhimanyu Easwaran 52; Yash Thakur 4-66) & 30/2 by 330 runs.
