After two losses in two games, the only positive outcome so far for MI New York and Seattle Orcas is that they aren’t placed as poorly as Los Angeles Knight Riders, who have had that one additional loss to suffer. However, if the campaign doesn’t fall on track by Wednesday evening, one of those will find themselves there. The good news however is that, if rain gods permit, one of the two teams will finally get a much-needed win against their names.

While Orcas and MINY have lost both their games so far, the trajectories of the competition has been fairly different. While MINY messed up from their winning positions in the games against Texas Super Kings and San Fransico Unicorns, Orcas were comfortably outplayed by their oppositions in both the games.

The concern of MINY isn’t as much with the form of its players as its by the inability to close games down, but for Orcas the list of worries are endless. The batters have under-delivered, the bowling has lacked sting and the captain hasn’t inspired much confidence with his performance either.

That MINY have their own set of worries to contend with, and as much panic to get over the line, is Orcas’ best opportunity to seize at the moment. Will they or won’t remains to be seen.

When: Wednesday, June 19, 2025, 6:30 AM IST/6:00 PM Local Time (June 18)

Where: Oakland Colesium, California

What to expect: There have been some high-scoring innings and some really low totals as well at the venue. At times the ball has bounced evenly, and at times stayed low. There will be some uncertainty over what the pitch and conditions will throw at the players.

Team News:

MI New York: Despite a couple of losses, there still isn’t enough reason for them to tinker with the team. They might retain the XI.

Probable XI: Agni Chopra, Quinton de Kock (WK), Monank Patel, Nicholas Pooran (C), Michael Bracewell, Kieron Pollard, Tajinder Dhillon, Sunny Patel, Trent Boult, Naveen ul Haq, Ehsan Adil

Seattle Orcas: For as desperately as Orcas might be seeking some reinforcements in their batting, there aren’t too many quality to choose from in the bench

Probable XI: David Warner, Kyle Mayers, Steven Taylor, Aaron Jones, Heinrich Klaasen (C&WK), Sikandar Raza, Sujit Nayak/Gulbadin Naib, Harmeet Singh, Jasdeep Singh, Obed McCoy, Waqar Salamkheil
