It’s time for a top-of-the-table clash. Both Texas Super Kings and San Francisco Unicorns come into this contest unbeaten, having won three out of their three league matches in the Major Super League (MLC) season so far.

SFU have lit up the tournament with their explosive batting displays led by Finn Allen and Jake Fraser-McGurk, notching record-breaking totals of 269 and 219 in their first two outings. Even in a tricky chase against MI New York, they found a lower-order saviour in Xavier Bartlett to seal a nervy which underlined their depth.

TSK’s season has been more about their superlative bowling. After starting with a nail-biting win over MINY, sealed by two freak run-outs and Daryl Mitchell’s calm last over, they tightened up their game. Their bowlers, including Nandre Burger, Noor Ahmad and Zia-ul-Haq, blew away the Seattle Orcas for 60 in a ruthless 93-run win in their last match and now come up against this in-form batting lineup of SFU with a lot of confidence and momentum.

It’s SFU’s firepower against TSK’s discipline then, with early supremacy on the line for both teams.

When: Jun 20, 07:00 PM LOCAL

Where: Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas

What to expect: This is going to be the season’s first MLC match at this venue. Last season, SFU lost the final heavily after being asked to chase 208.

Team news:

Texas Super Kings: The Faf du Plessis-led side should stick to the same eleven.

Probable XI: Devon Conway(w), Faf du Plessis(c), Saiteja Mukkamalla, Daryl Mitchell, Shubham Ranjane, Marcus Stoinis, Milind Kumar, Calvin Savage, Noor Ahmad, Zia-ul-Haq, Nandre Burger

San Francisco Unicorns: Juanoy Drysdale and Carmi le Roux came into the side for the last match and they could keep their place.

Probable XI: Tim Seifert(w), Finn Allen, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Cooper Connolly, Hassan Khan, Corey Anderson(c), Juanoy Drysdale, Xavier Bartlett, Haris Rauf, Carmi le Roux
