San Francisco Unicorns are the only unbeaten team in MLC 2025 so far and they have been at their best from the get go. They have swatted their opponents away in three of the four games and beat MINY in the last over, a week ago. If their start to the season hasn’t already left the Unicorns in a positive frame of mind, the win against MINY would have given them an even bigger psychological advantage.

They have the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker of the tournament so far in their ranks – Finn Allen (247 runs) and Haris Rauf (11 wickets) – and the rest of their overseas contingent have also managed to unearth form including Jake Fraser-McGurk. Their domestic players including Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Hassan Khan have been in the thick of things as SFU look to continue their rampaging form.

SFU’s captain Corey Anderson might have been ruled out of the tournament but the team has shown no indication of slipping up.

MINY, the inaugural MLC champions, have had a tough start to the tournament. They are hanging on to their fourth spot on NRR with only one win in four matches. All their batters have clicked in patches but not together. Captain Nicholas Pooran is yet to click and he knows he has his work cut out in order for MINY to stage a late surge into the top three which are comfortably breaking away.

Another misfiring department for MINY has been their bowling with none of them going below an economy of 8 runs an over so far this season. Nosthush Kenjige too is yet to play a game for the franchise. Naveen-ul-Haq has been their best bowler so far this season with 11 wickets.

When: Monday, June 23, 2025, 7:00 PM Local Time / 5:30 AM IST (June 24)

Where: MI New York vs San Francisco Unicorns, Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas

What to expect: The surface has been good to bat on so far in the tournament, with the two 200+ scores out of four games played here. The trend is expected to continue heading into this game.

Team News:

MINY: MINY could turn back to Ehsan Adil after Rushil Ugarkar had a tough time out in their last game. Kenjige could come in for Sunny Patel.

Probable XI: Monank Patel, Quinton de Kock (wk), Nicholas Pooran (c), Kieron Pollard, Michael Bracewell, Heath Richards, Tajinder Dhillon, Sunny Patel/ Nosthush Kenjige, Trent Boult, Naveen ul-Haq, Rushil Ugarkar/ Ehsan Adil.

San Francisco Unicorns: Barring any further injury concerns, the Unicorns are unlikely to make any change from their last game.

Probable XI: Matthew Short (c), Finn Allen, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Tim Seifert (wk), Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Hassan Khan, Karima Gore, Xavier Bartlett, Haris Rauf, Brody Couch, Carmi le Roux
