Texas Super Kings are off to a strong start in their Major League Cricket (MLC) campaign this season, with two wins in two games placing them second on the table. If the season opener against MI New York was a tense affair, sealed by Daryl Mitchell’s composure and a superb final over where eight runs were defended, their victory over Los Angeles Knight Riders was far more straightforward.

TSK first posted 181/4, with contributions from across the batting order before unleashing their bowling attack. Noor Ahmad stood out with a four-wicket haul; Calvin Savage, the Player of the Match in the first game, wasn’t even needed with the bat this time.

Next up are the Seattle Orcas. A win here would give TSK three wins in three matches, putting them level with table-toppers San Francisco Unicorns.

The Orcas currently sit at the bottom of the table after a heavy five-wicket loss to defending champions Washington Freedom. On a pitch with pace and bounce, their batters struggled to score once the ball got older; with Sikandar Raza’s scratchy 16 off 26 being a case in point. It didn’t help that Freedom chased the 146-run target in only 13.3 overs.

The Heinrich Klaasen-led side would be hoping for a much improved showing with the bat, especially against a Super Kings attack that has claimed 18 of the 20 wickets on offer so far.

When: Jun 16, 06:00 PM LOCAL / 6:30 AM IST (Jun 17)

Where: Oakland Coliseum, California

What to expect: Four of the six matches at the venue have been won by sides batting first, eventhough teams have opted to field in five of the six matches so far. The lone loss for a team losing after opting to bat first was for Seattle Orcas in their only match.

Team news:

Texas Super Kings: They got an extra seamer in their ranks for their second match and discovered a better balance to their side, so Stephen Wing should keep his place.

Probable XI: Faf du Plessis (c), Devon Conway (wk), Saiteja Mukkamalla, Daryl Mitchell, Donovan Ferreira, Calvin Savage, Shubham Ranjane, Stephen Wing, Adam Milne, Noor Ahmad, Zia-ul-Haq

Seattle Orcas: Gulbadin Naib is an option for them, but they just might stick to the same side early in the season.

Probable XI: David Warner, Kyle Mayers, Steven Taylor, Aaron Jones, Heinrich Klaasen(w/c), Sikandar Raza, Harmeet Singh, Cameron Gannon, Jasdeep Singh, Waqar Salamkheil, Obed McCoy
