Shreyanka Patil’s return to competitive cricket has been further delayed, consequently ruling her out of India A’s multi-format tour of Australia in August. The all-rounder was a part of the original touring party subject to fitness clearance from the NCA. However, her Return-to-Play date has been pushed forward by over a week, essentially delaying her fitness clearance at least until the start of the T20 series in Australia, starting August 7.

Alongside Patil, legspinner Priya Mishra has also been sidelined from the tour due to an undisclosed injury. “Both players remain under the care of the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence and are currently undergoing their Return-to-Play protocols,” stated a BCCI release.

Yastika Bhatia has been named as a belated addition to just the one-day side, while the injured spinners are being replaced by Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat respectively across formats. Gujjar (only one-day and multi-format) and Rawat (only T20) had both been named inselective squads earlier, but will now be extending their stay.

Bhatia’s inclusion in the one-day squad could indicate that the BCCI would be keeping an eye on her with the Women’s ODI World Cup a little over two months away. She was also part of India’s squad in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against England, where India won 2-1, but she didn’t get a game.

India A will face Australia in three T20s, three one-day matches and one four-day match from August 7 to August 24.

India A’s updated T20 Squad: Radha Yadav (C), Minnu Mani (VC), Shafali Verma, D. Vrinda, Sajana Sajeevan, Uma Chetry (WK), Raghvi Bist, Prema Rawat, Nandini Kashyap (WK), Tanuja Kanwer, Joshita VJ, Shabnam Shakeel, Saima Thakor, Titas Sadhu, Dhara Gujjar
