Scotland international George Munsey has completed his move to Notts Outlaws for the entire 2026 Vitality Blast season, bringing significant experience and firepower to Trent Bridge.
The 33-year-old boasts more than 150 white-ball caps for Scotland and was named in his country’s squad for the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. A proven performer in the shortest format, Munsey has scored over 2,600 career T20 runs at an average of 28.17 and an impressive strike rate above 141.
Munsey is no stranger to county cricket, having previously featured in the Vitality Blast for Hampshire and Kent. His availability for the full 2026 Blast campaign — beginning against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge on Friday, May 22 — includes all potential knockout fixtures.
As a British passport holder, Munsey will qualify as a domestic player throughout his stint with Nottinghamshire.
Born in Oxford, Munsey relocated to Scotland at the age of 13 and was educated in Musselburgh, near Edinburgh, before making his international debut in June 2015. Among his standout performances is a remarkable 132 off 61 balls in a 2024 T20 World Cup qualifier. He also played a pivotal role in Scotland’s historic ODI victory over England in 2018, scoring a crucial 55 in Edinburgh.
George Munsey said: “I’m really excited to get the opportunity to come and play for Notts and call a wonderful venue like Trent Bridge home in the middle of summer.
“I’ll be taking this chance with both hands and aiming to contribute as much as I can, both on the field and off it, and hopefully we can deliver success this year.”
“I feel like I have a lot of experience that I can bring to this group, and hopefully that will help us have a successful year in the Blast.
“So many great players have played for the Outlaws in this format down the years, and I can’t wait to step out at Trent Bridge in front of a big crowd this summer.
Nottinghamshire Head Coach, Peter Moores, added: “George adds another experienced batter to our Blast squad, as we continue to develop our team into one that can really push for honours in this format.”
“There will still be plenty of opportunities for our homegrown players to push their case for selection, though George gives us additional depth and experience.
“That will be important as we head into another busy season in all formats of the game.”
