The final league stage encounter between San Francisco Unicorns and Los Angeles Knight Riders might still have a lot riding on it, even as the latter has already been resigned to finish at the bottom of the table. SFU are currently second but not guaranteed a top-two finish yet. If Washington Freedom beat MI New York and go two points ahead, Unicorns will then need a win regain that position.

Beyond just the result of the contest between arguably the most dominant side of the competition against the most underwhelming performers, is the need for Unicorns to gain some momentum ahead of the playoffs. After having kickstarted their campaign with six consecutive victories, they stuttered a bit with two losses before just about managing to eke out a one-run win against Texas Super Kings.

While Unicorns may want to return to their dominant selves, Knight Riders would want to end a rather disappointing campaign with a win. There have been times they were close, but with only one victory to showcase so far, they would want to return home with some consolation.

When: Sunday, July 6, 2025, 7:00 PM Local Time/4:30 AM IST (July 7)

Where: Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida

What to expect: Scoring big hasn’t been easy in Florida. Another challenging surface could be on offer for the batters.

Team News:

Los Angeles Knight Riders: With nothing at stake, there could be opportunities for those who missed out for most parts of the season

Probable XI: Unmukt Chand, Andre Fletcher, Alex Hales, Sherfane Rutherford, Nitish Kumar, Saif Badar, Jason Holder, Sunil Narine, Matthew Tromp, Corne Dry, Spencer Johnson

San Francisco Unicorns: They may stick with the same combination.

Probable XI: Matthew Short, Finn Allen, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Hassan Khan, Romario Shepherd, Hammad Azam, Xavier Bartlett, Haris Rauf, Karima Gore, Broady Couch
