The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently waiting for a response from Cricket West Indies (CWI) regarding its proposal to convert the upcoming ODI series into T20 Internationals during Pakistan’s tour of the Caribbean.

As per the original schedule, Pakistan are set to play a three-match T20I and a three-match ODI series against the West Indies. However, the PCB has suggested turning the ODI leg into additional T20Is to help both teams prepare for major upcoming tournaments, including the 2025 ACC Men’s Asia Cup and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup — both of which will be played in the T20 format.

If the proposal is accepted, the T20I series could be extended to five or even six matches, with the first game likely to take place on July 31. An official announcement is expected soon, as talks between the two boards are ongoing.

Should the ODIs remain unchanged, the PCB will name additional players specifically for the 50-over squad. In case the changes are approved, the squad for the extended T20I series will be announced together with the team selected for the Bangladesh series.

According to the current itinerary, the three T20Is are scheduled for July 31, August 2, and August 3. The ODIs, if kept in the schedule, will be played on August 8, 10, and 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is also preparing for a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, set to take place later in July. The Pakistan squad will arrive in Dhaka on July 16, and all matches will be played at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The T20I series will begin on July 20, with the remaining games scheduled for July 22 and July 24. All three matches will begin at 6:00 PM local time (5:00 PM PST).

The last time these two sides met was in May, when Pakistan completed a dominant 3-0 whitewash at home.

Pakistan-Bangladesh T20I series schedule:

20 July – 1st T20I, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka – 5:00 PM (PST)
22 July – 2nd T20I, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka – 5:00 PM (PST)
24 July – 3rd T20I, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka – 5:00 PM (PST)
