The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct has been handed over to the franchises and they have been given one week to sign it.

According to details, a PSL team official had severely criticized PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja this year which made the former cricketer angry and directed them to take action.

Ramiz was told that the board has no such authority; therefore, Ramiz asked to make a new code of conduct.

The franchisees expressed their displeasure over this, saying that the PSL contract included all of this. However, PCB made a new code of conduct and sent it to the franchises a few days ago.

There was a debate in the last meeting on Friday. Franchises have asked to study this in detail and have opted to consult lawyers.

On this matter, a board official said, “Okay, we will give you two weeks.”

On hearing this, another senior official intervened and said: “Why, two weeks, one week is much for this.

As per sources, there are very strict conditions in the code of conduct, and prohibitions and fines are also included for violations. No one will be able to make remarks against any board official.

The franchises feel that signing it would be like digging their own grave.

On the other hand, the hybrid model of the draft plus auction was also discussed in the last meeting, under which the players’ budget will also increase.

However, the franchise owners feel that the board itself is a little confused and the proposal is not clear. Further discussions will take place in the meeting today.
