दिल्ली की शुरुआत खराब हुई थी. फाफ डु प्लेसिस और जैक फ्रेजर मैकगर्क कुछ खास नहीं कर सके. डुप्लेसिस महज 2 रन बनाकर आउट हुए. उन्हें यश दयाल ने पवेलियन का रास्ता दिखाया. इसके बाद मैकगर्क 7 रन बनाकर आउट हुए. अभिषेक पोरेल भी 7 रन बनाकर पवेलियन लौटे. इन दोनों को भुवनेश्वर कुमार ने आउट किया.

दिल्ली के लिए भुवनेश्वर कुमार ने 2 विकेट लिए. उन्होंने 4 ओवरों में 26 रन दिए. सुयश शर्मा ने 4 ओवरों में 25 रन देकर 1 विकेट लिया. यश दयाल ने 3.5 ओवरों में 45 रन देकर 1 विकेट लिया.

आरसीबी के लिए साल्ट-डेविड का विस्फोटक प्रदर्शन –

रजत पाटीदार की कप्तानी वाली रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर ने 20 ओवरों में 7 विकेट के नुकसान के साथ 163 रन बनाए. इस दौरान फिलिप साल्ट और टिम डेविड ने विस्फोटक पारी खेली. साल्ट ने 17 गेंदों में 4 चौके और 3 छक्के लगाए. उन्होंने 37 रनों की पारी खेली. वहीं टिम डेविड ने नाबाद 37 रन बनाए. उन्होंने 4 चौके और 2 चौके लगाए. विराट कोहली ने 14 गेंदों में 22 रन बनाए. रजत पाटीदार ने 25 रनों का योगदान दिया.

दिल्ली के गेंदबाजों का घातक प्रदर्शन –

दिल्ली के गेंदबाजों ने कमाल का प्रदर्शन किया. कुलदीप यादव और विप्राज निगम ने 2-2 विकेट लिए. विप्राज ने 4 ओवरों में 18 रन दिए. कुलदीप ने 4 ओवरों में 17 रन दिए. मोहित शर्मा और मुकेश कुमार को एक-एक विकेट मिला.

MS Dhoni is set to lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season following Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s exclusion due to an injury. Stephen Fleming, CSK Coach, said: “Due to injury, Ruturaj Gaikwad is out of the IPL tournament, and Dhoni will take over as captain for the rest of the game,” Stephen Fleming said in the pre-match press conference. Chennai Super Kings have encountered a significant setback before their upcoming match in the IPL 2025,scheduled to be held on Friday. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was sidelined from the league due to an elbow injury.

During his absence, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter will again assume the team leader role. This highlights his comeback as captain for the first time since he led the team to victory in the final of the IPL 2023 against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Fleming announced that Dhoni, an uncapped player, will be the team’s new captain for the rest of the IPL season. Dhoni readily agreed to take on the leadership role and help guide the team.

“We have an uncapped player, MS Dhoni, who will take over as captain for the remainder of the IPL. Dhoni had no hesitation to step up and help guide us out of this if we can,” Stephen Fleming said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Dhoni possesses an impressive record as an IPL captain. He has guided CSK and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) to 133 victories out of 226 games, achieving a win percentage of 58. 84, and he has steered CSK to five IPL championships in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023.

He is also the sixth-highest run-getter in the tournament’s history, with 5,346 runs at an average of 39.31 and a strike rate of over 137, with 24 fifties and a best score of 84. In IPL 2025, Dhoni has made 103 runs in five innings at an average of 51.50 and a strike rate of over 153.73; his best score is 30.

CSK is placed in the ninth position. This injury is a significant setback for the five-time champions, who have lost four out of their initial five matches this season and will now be missing their captain and crucial batsman in the top order.

It is worth mentioning that Gaikwad has been CSK’s leading run scorer in three of the past four seasons. CSK will now play defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

कितनी गंभीर है गायकवाड़ की चोट –

ऋतुराज गायकवाड़ ने चेन्नई के लिए आईपीएल 2025 में पांच मैच खेले. इस दौरान दो अर्धशतक लगाए. गायकवाड़ तीन मैचों में कुछ खास नहीं कर पाए. लेकिन दो मैचों में अर्धशतक लगाए. उन्होंने मुंबई इंडियंस के खिलाफ 53 रनों की पारी खेली थी. लेकिन अब गायकवाड़ चोटिल हो गए हैं. उनकी कोहनी में हेयरलाइन फ्रैक्चर हो गया है. चोट गंभीर है. वे इसी वजह से पूरे सीजन में नहीं खेल पाएंगे.

Pakistan allrounder Shadab Khan said that he was frustrated with repeated allegations thrown around about him being favoured due to his father-in-law Saqlain Mushtaq’s influence. Saqlain, who is one of the five mentors appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) last year, was also the head coach of the national team at one point and works at the National Cricket Academy.

“It is frustrating and disappointing to hear such things because my career is nearly seven years long. I have given some good performances since debuting for Pakistan. Yes I am learning a lot from Saqlain Mushtaq because of his strong cricket coaching background. But it does not mean he is doing me favours,” Shadab told the media in Rawalpindi.

“It hurts when the connection with Saqlain Mushtaq is repeatedly brought up. I have been trying to improve my bowling by working with my father-in-law because I consider myself more beneficial to the team as a bowler than a batter,” Shadab added.

Shadab who married to Saqlain’s daughter two years back, remained out of the Pakistan team since last year’s ICC T20 World Cup and made a surprise comeback to the T20 squad for the tour of New Zealand as vice-captain.

Former players like Ahmed Shehzad and Shahid Afridi had questioned Shadab’s inclusion in the squad. It didn’t help that Shadab scored three runs with the bat and bowled two overs giving away 18 runs in his first match back.

“You’re talking about Shadab—tell me, what performance has he delivered? Who brought him into the team? Let this series pass first. The PCB has a different plan with Shadab, and he was included in the team for a different purpose,” Shehzad had said after the 1st T20I vs New Zealand.

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu has issued a strong response amid criticism over him fanboying on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni. Rayudu, who played six seasons for CSK, has been getting a lot of negative messages on social media for his continued support towards the franchise and Dhoni. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rayudu broke his silence on the matter, once again declaring himself as a fan of ‘Thala’. Rayudu also lashed out at fans, adding that none of their hate messages would change his opinion.

“I was a Thala’s fan. I am a Thala’s fan. I will always be a Thala’s fan. No matter what anyone thinks or does. It will not make a one percent difference. So please stop spending money on paid pr and donate that to charity. Lot of underprivileged people can benefit,” Rayudu posted on X.

Meanwhile, formrer CSK wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa has advised Dhoni to bat slightly up the order.

“I don’t think there was ever a lack of intent from MS Dhoni. Even outside the IPL, I believe he has passed on responsibility to others and given them a clear understanding of what to expect in the coming years as CSK rebuilds into a championship-contending side. That transition is happening, and while we would love to see MS bat the way he is right now, perhaps a little higher up the order, I don’t think the problem lies at the end,” Uthappa said on JioHotstar.

Uthappa also shared his thoughts on CSK’s performance against PBKS and said, “They started well, scoring almost 9.8 or 9.9 runs per over, which is as good as you can expect with the kind of openers they have. But you can’t let the game slip in the middle overs, especially when chasing a big total. The approach in the overs from 7 to 12 was very quiet.

“You need big overs right after the powerplay to keep the pressure on the opposition. Winning the powerplay is one thing, but owning the middle overs is what wins you games and they failed to do that, again.

“In the last two overs, they needed 42 runs, which is just too many. Had they managed a couple of 15 to 20-run overs in the middle, that equation could have come down to needing just 22 to 25 runs at the end. The intent just wasn’t there,” he added.

CSK will now face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next match on Friday.

Only days after he was named as the successor to Jos Buttler as England men’s white-ball cricket captain, Harry Brook has vowed that he will skip from all franchise league commitments for the near future.

Brook, who was signed up by the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2025 season at Rs 6.25 Crore in the mega auction last November, pulled out of the T20 extravaganza following England’s Champions Trophy exit. Brook, who had also pulled out of last year’s IPL due to the passing of his grandmother, said he wanted to focus on his upcoming international commitments with England. The new BCCI rule also meant that Brook is banned from entering the IPL until 2027.

“England is the way forward for me and franchise cricket can almost take a step back for a little while,” Brook told the BBC.

“I enjoy playing cricket for England more than anything else, so to lose a little bit of money here and there – I’d take that any day to play for England.”

Brook said he will attempt to play every series for England while “there might be a couple of opportunities to have a little break here and there”.

England will be leaning in on two highly-billed Test series this year, first up against India at home starting mid-June and later in the Ashes in Australia. Brook will also be focused on England’s preparations for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in early 2026.

“I’d like to play every game but if I require a week off and that’s the best thing going forward for my game, then I’m sure I’ll be allowed a week off,” said Brook.

DRS के समय अल्ट्रा एज का सहारा लिया गया तो उसमें काफी बड़ा स्पाइक देखा गया था. नतीजन रियान पराग को थर्ड-अंपायर ने भी आउट करार दिया. मगर राजस्थान का युवा बल्लेबाज इस फैसले से खुश नहीं था. उनका कहना था कि अल्ट्रा एज पर स्पाइक गेंद-बल्ले के कनेक्शन की वजह से नहीं बल्कि जमीन से बल्ला रगड़ने के कारण आया था.

रियान पराग को पहले भी लगी है 12 लाख की चपत

IPL 2025 के पहले तीन मैचों में संजू सैमसन बतौर इम्पैक्ट प्लेयर केवल बैटिंग करने आ रहे थे. ऐसे में उनकी जगह रियान पराग राजस्थान टीम की कप्तानी कर रहे थे. इस बीच CSK के खिलाफ मैच में स्लो-ओवर रेट के कारण RR के कप्तान रहे रियान पराग को 12 लाख रुपये की चपत लगी थी.

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews put on a stunning show of resilience after she was stretchered off, battling cramps, before returning to smash her ninth ODI century in a bid to prevent an upset against Scotland in their ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifier opener in Lahore on Wednesday.

Chasing a 245-run target, West Indies slipped from 120 for two and later to 203 for nine as opener Matthews retired hurt twice while on 95 and 99 after suffering from severe cramps.

Matthews, however, had no respite as she was stretchered off the field after 41.3 overs as No. 11 Karishma Ramharack fell for a golden duck next ball! Returning instantly to the crease for a fourth time in the innings, Matthews reached her ninth ODI century off the next delivery in only 101 balls to keep the Windies fight alive.

Matthews then set up a 30-run stand alongside Aaliyah Alleyne, adding 15 runs. However, Scotland would walk away with a stinging 11-run victory after Alleyne was trapped lbw by spinner Abtaha Maqsood in the 47th over, leaving Matthews unbeaten on 114 (113b, 14×4).

Records tumble

Matthews’ century followed a four-wicket haul (4/56) in the first innings, making her only the fourth woman ever to record a century and a four-wicket haul in an ODI. Matthews is, however, the first female captain to record the staggering double in ODIs.

The West Indies all-rounder is also the second-youngest (27 y 111d) and second-quickest (88 innings) to reach nine centuries in women’s ODIs, only behind Australia’s Meg Lanning on both counts.

Matthews also equalled Lanning and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates for centuries against most teams, with Scotland being the seventh different country against whom she has recorded a hundred.
