अब जियोहॉटस्टार के एक शो पर अपने पोस्ट-मैच प्रेजेंटेशन के वीडियो को रिव्यू करते हुए विराट ने कहा, “मुझे याद भी नहीं कि मैंने क्या कहा था. क्रिस खुलकर शॉट खेल पाएं. गलत फहमी देख लो.” विराट ने आगे यह कहा कि जब से सोशल मीडिया का दौर आया है तबसे फैंस अजीब तरीकों से खिलाड़ियों की बातों का विश्लेषण करने लगे हैं.

13,000 रन पूरे कर चुके हैं विराट

2011 का वह इंटरव्यू 14 साल पुराना हो चुका है, उसके बाद विराट विशेष रूप से व्हाइट बॉल क्रिकेट के महानतम क्रिकेटरों में से एक बनकर उभरे हैं. IPL 2025 के दौरान उन्होंने अपने टी20 करियर में 13,000 रन पूरे कर लिए हैं. वो ऐसा करने वाले पहले भारतीय और दुनिया के कुल पांचवें खिलाड़ी हैं. विराट ने अब तक अपने 403 मैचों के टी20 करियर में 13,050 रन बना लिए हैं.

Only days after he was named as the successor to Jos Buttler as England men’s white-ball cricket captain, Harry Brook has vowed that he will skip from all franchise league commitments for the near future.

Brook, who was signed up by the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2025 season at Rs 6.25 Crore in the mega auction last November, pulled out of the T20 extravaganza following England’s Champions Trophy exit. Brook, who had also pulled out of last year’s IPL due to the passing of his grandmother, said he wanted to focus on his upcoming international commitments with England. The new BCCI rule also meant that Brook is banned from entering the IPL until 2027.

“England is the way forward for me and franchise cricket can almost take a step back for a little while,” Brook told the BBC.

“I enjoy playing cricket for England more than anything else, so to lose a little bit of money here and there – I’d take that any day to play for England.”

Brook said he will attempt to play every series for England while “there might be a couple of opportunities to have a little break here and there”.

England will be leaning in on two highly-billed Test series this year, first up against India at home starting mid-June and later in the Ashes in Australia. Brook will also be focused on England’s preparations for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in early 2026.

“I’d like to play every game but if I require a week off and that’s the best thing going forward for my game, then I’m sure I’ll be allowed a week off,” said Brook.

यह मामला राजस्थान रॉयल्स की पारी के 7वें ओवर का है. टीम 2 विकेट जल्दी गंवा चुकी थी, ऐसे में कप्तान संजू सैमसन और रियान पराग ने राजस्थान को संभाला था. सामने कुलवंत खेजरोलिया बॉलिंग कर रहे थे और ओवर की चौथी गेंद पर पराग ने थर्ड-मैन की दिशा में गेंद को टहलाने का प्रयास किया लेकिन बॉल सीधे विकेटकीपर के हाथों में चली गई. ग्राउंड अंपायर ने पराग को आउट करार दिया, लेकिन राजस्थान के बल्लेबाज ने DRS ले लिया था.

DRS के समय अल्ट्रा एज का सहारा लिया गया तो उसमें काफी बड़ा स्पाइक देखा गया था. नतीजन रियान पराग को थर्ड-अंपायर ने भी आउट करार दिया. मगर राजस्थान का युवा बल्लेबाज इस फैसले से खुश नहीं था. उनका कहना था कि अल्ट्रा एज पर स्पाइक गेंद-बल्ले के कनेक्शन की वजह से नहीं बल्कि जमीन से बल्ला रगड़ने के कारण आया था.

रियान पराग को पहले भी लगी है 12 लाख की चपत

IPL 2025 के पहले तीन मैचों में संजू सैमसन बतौर इम्पैक्ट प्लेयर केवल बैटिंग करने आ रहे थे. ऐसे में उनकी जगह रियान पराग राजस्थान टीम की कप्तानी कर रहे थे. इस बीच CSK के खिलाफ मैच में स्लो-ओवर रेट के कारण RR के कप्तान रहे रियान पराग को 12 लाख रुपये की चपत लगी थी.

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews put on a stunning show of resilience after she was stretchered off, battling cramps, before returning to smash her ninth ODI century in a bid to prevent an upset against Scotland in their ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Qualifier opener in Lahore on Wednesday.

Chasing a 245-run target, West Indies slipped from 120 for two and later to 203 for nine as opener Matthews retired hurt twice while on 95 and 99 after suffering from severe cramps.

Matthews, however, had no respite as she was stretchered off the field after 41.3 overs as No. 11 Karishma Ramharack fell for a golden duck next ball! Returning instantly to the crease for a fourth time in the innings, Matthews reached her ninth ODI century off the next delivery in only 101 balls to keep the Windies fight alive.

Matthews then set up a 30-run stand alongside Aaliyah Alleyne, adding 15 runs. However, Scotland would walk away with a stinging 11-run victory after Alleyne was trapped lbw by spinner Abtaha Maqsood in the 47th over, leaving Matthews unbeaten on 114 (113b, 14×4).

Records tumble

Matthews’ century followed a four-wicket haul (4/56) in the first innings, making her only the fourth woman ever to record a century and a four-wicket haul in an ODI. Matthews is, however, the first female captain to record the staggering double in ODIs.

The West Indies all-rounder is also the second-youngest (27 y 111d) and second-quickest (88 innings) to reach nine centuries in women’s ODIs, only behind Australia’s Meg Lanning on both counts.

Matthews also equalled Lanning and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates for centuries against most teams, with Scotland being the seventh different country against whom she has recorded a hundred.

Virat Kohli on Monday became the first Indian to complete 13,000 runs in T20 cricket during the Indian Premier League contest between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians here.

Kohli reached the landmark with his second half-century this IPL season to become only the fifth batter overall to have scored 13,000 runs in the shortest format of the game.

The right-handed modern day great achieved the feat in a little over 400 matches in his career.

He is the third-highest run scorer in T20Is after Rohit Sharma (4,231 runs) and Pakistan’s Babar Azam (4,223).

Rohit is the second in the list among highest run-scorers in overall T20 cricket with 11,851 runs in 451 matches.

Overall, Kohli had scored 12,983 runs before the IPL clash on Monday with nine centuries and 98 fifties at an average of 38.93 and strike rate of over 132.

The IPL season-opening contest between RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders on March 23 was Kohli’s 400th game in the shortest format.

Chris Gayle leads the list of highest run-scorers in T20 cricket with 14,562 in 463 matches, followed by Alex Hales at the second spot with 13,610 runs, Shoaib Malik at third with 13,557 runs in 555 matches and Kieron Pollard at the fourth position with 13,537 runs in 695 matches.
