New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy has been named as Mohammad Amir’s replacement in the Northern Superchargers squad for the remainder of The Hundred 2025 men’s competition.

The franchise confirmed the news on its official social media channels, sharing a photo of Duffy wearing the Superchargers jersey.

“Jacob Duffy will permanently replace Mohammad Amir for the rest of The Hundred,” the team stated.

Amir had joined the Superchargers as a partial replacement earlier in the tournament and featured in two matches. During his short stint, the left-arm pacer claimed one wicket and scored 11 runs.

The 33-year-old will now travel to the Caribbean to take part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, where he will represent Trinbago Knight Riders — his fourth CPL team since 2021. Across four seasons, Amir has played 39 matches in the league, picking up 51 wickets at an average of 18.09.

Amir will be joined at Trinbago by fellow Pakistani Usman Tariq, who will be playing in his first overseas league after two strong seasons in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2024 and 2025.

All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz will also make his CPL debut this year after signing with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, while experienced campaigner Imad Wasim returns to Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for his eighth season, having played 64 matches in the competition.

Last year’s CPL runners-up, Guyana Amazon Warriors, have signed Pakistan-based spin all-rounder Hassan Khan, who has recently been linked with a move to USA cricket.

The 13th edition of the CPL will run from August 14 to September 21, featuring several Pakistani stars across different franchises.

Pakistani players in CPL 2025:

Mohammad Nawaz (St Kitts and Nevis Patriots)
Imad Wasim (Antigua and Barbuda Falcons)
Mohammad Amir, Usman Tariq (Trinbago Knight Riders)
Iftikhar Ahmed, Hassan Khan (Guyana Amazon Warriors)
