Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head became the second-fastest to 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League during an IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede on Thursday.

Head reached the landmark off his 575th ball in the tournament. Only Kolkata Knight Riders’ Andre Russell has crossed the 1000-run mark quicker (545).

This was Head’s 31st innings in the IPL. The Australian opener began his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, representing the side in 2016 and 2017. In 2024 he was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad and went onto score 567 runs at a strike rate of 191.55.

His SRH teammate Heinrich Klaasen is third on the list. Virender Sehwag is the fastest Indian to touch 1000 runs in the IPL.
