Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025, delivering impressive performances for the San Francisco Unicorns.
Continuing his fine form, Rauf took 2 wickets for just 24 runs in his latest outing against MI New York, helping his side secure a thrilling three-wicket victory. He dismissed key batters and played a crucial role in keeping the opposition under pressure.
Earlier in the tournament, Rauf claimed 4 wickets against Los Angeles and 3 wickets in the season opener against Washington. With a total of 9 wickets from 3 matches, he currently leads the bowling charts and has been instrumental in the Unicorns’ unbeaten run.
Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad, playing for Texas Super Kings, follows him with 8 wickets from 3 matches, while his San Francisco teammate Hassan Khan is third with 6 wickets in as many matches.
In the match, MI New York posted 182 for 7 after being asked to bat first, with Quinton de Kock scoring a brisk 63 off 38 balls. Haris Rauf, alongside le Roux and Hassan Khan, took two wickets each to restrict the scoring.
Chasing 183, San Francisco Unicorns were reeling at 108 for 6, but Xavier Bartlett turned the game around with a stunning unbeaten 59 off 25 balls. Supported by explosive cameos from Hassan Khan (43 off 17) and Haris Rauf (10), the Unicorns sealed their third consecutive win of the season and now sit at the top of the MLC 2025 points table.
