Australia’s explosive batter Tim David, who previously represented Pakistan Super League (PSL) side Multan Sultans, has signed with St Lucia Kings for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 season.

The defending champions, St Lucia Kings, selected David as their first pick in the CPL draft held on Wednesday, securing his services for the full season.

Meanwhile, five Pakistan players are also set to feature in CPL 2025, which is scheduled to begin on August 15.

The much-anticipated draft saw four out of the six participating teams signing Pakistan or Pakistan-origin players, including veteran pacer Mohammad Amir.

Amir, who has already played four CPL seasons, will join Trinbago Knight Riders—his fourth team in the league since 2021. So far, he has claimed 51 wickets in 39 matches at an impressive average of 18.09.

He will be joined at the Knight Riders by Usman Tariq, who will be playing in an overseas league for the first time, after making a mark during the 2024 and 2025 PSL seasons.

All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has also been drafted and will make his CPL debut with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Imad Wasim, another seasoned campaigner from Pakistan, returns to Antigua and Barbuda Falcons—having been released by the same franchise ahead of the draft. Imad is the most experienced Pakistani player in CPL history, with 64 appearances across seven editions.

Meanwhile, last year’s finalists, Guyana Amazon Warriors, picked spin-bowling all-rounder Hasan Khan, who is reportedly making a shift to USA cricket.

The 13th edition of CPL will take place from August 15 to September 22. The league will feature 30 group-stage matches among six franchises, followed by the eliminator, two qualifiers, and the final.

The six teams participating this year are St Lucia Kings, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. The Falcons have replaced Jamaica Tallawahs, who were dropped before the 2024 season.
