Birmingham Phoenix are thrilled to confirm that Ellyse Perry, one of the world’s most decorated women’s cricketers, will be retained by the franchise for the 2026 season of The Hundred.

The Australian all-round icon returns to Edgbaston for another campaign with Phoenix Women, bringing an unparalleled blend of experience, elite performance and leadership to the squad. At 35 years old, Perry has enjoyed a remarkable global career across international and domestic formats and continues to be a standout performer at the highest level of cricket.

Across her international career, she has scored over 6,700 runs and taken more than 330 wickets, placing her among the true greats of the women’s game.

In The Hundred competition to date, Perry has featured for the Phoenix since 2022, accumulating over 500 runs at a strike rate above 120 and contributing with the ball when required, underlining her value in all departments.

Off the back of another busy global summer in elite leagues, including standout performances in the Women’s Premier League and Women’s Big Bash League, Perry’s retention signals Phoenix’s intent to be a competitive force in the women’s Hundred.

“I’m delighted to be returning to Birmingham Phoenix for the 2026 season,” said Perry. “The Hundred has been such a wonderful addition to the cricket landscape and provided so many wonderful opportunities for the further development of the women’s game.

“The Phoenix has one of the most passionate fanbases in the competition and it has been a true privilege to experience the home support at Edgbaston. We are all really looking forward to the opportunity this upcoming edition of The Hundred.”

Ali Maiden, Birmingham Phoenix Women’s Head Coach, said: “Ellyse is a once-in-a-generation talent whose impact extends far beyond the numbers on the scorecard. She embodies professionalism, skill and competitive spirit, and we’re incredibly proud she’ll be part of our Phoenix Women squad again in 2026.

“Her presence elevates everyone around her and we know she’ll be pivotal to our campaign. We are aiming to recruit an exciting, athletic and energetic squad, so having somebody like Ellyse who embodies those characteristics is priceless for the long term success of the Birmingham Phoenix.”
