Tilly Corteen-Coleman’s career-best 4/13 and Sophie Devine’s all-round show (2/30 & 41*) helped Southern Brave stretch their unbeaten streak in the Women’s Hundred 2025 to four games on Saturday (August 16). On a slow surface, Corteen-Coleman and Lauren Bell combined to keep Rockets restricted to just 106. In reply, Maia Bouchier and Devine led a nervy chase with two balls to spare.

Corteen-Coleman struck twice in her first set to remove Bryony Smith and Nat Sciver-Brunt to reduce Rockets to 10/2 in nine balls. Ash Gardner (25 off 16) tried to steady the innings, but lacked support. Bell and Corteen-Coleman ran through the middle order and picked two apiece in a collapse of 6 for 18 that left Rockets reeling.

Kristie Gordon (32 off 27) and Alana King (24 not out of 23) helped rebuild with their partnership of 51 that lent some respectability to Rockets’ final score. Devine, however, struck twice at the backend to wrap up the opposition for just 106.

Brave were themselves reduced to 2 for 10 in 13 balls in the chase before Bouchier and Devine joined hands to put the chase back on track. The opener struck half a dozen fours in her 30-ball 42, putting on a 69-run partnership with the New Zealander.

Once Bouchier departed, Freya Kemp struggled to get going, leading to a spike in the asking rate. She eased those nerves with a massive six before being sent back for 14 off 15. Chloe Tryon and Devine then took their side over the line without any further hiccups to script a six-wicket win eventually and take Brave back to the top of the table.

Brief scores: Trent Rockets 106 all out in 100 balls (Kirstie Gordon 32; Tilly Corteen-Coleman 4-13, Lauren Bell 3-16, Sophie Devine 2-30) lost to Southern Brave 109/4 in 98 balls (Maia Bouchier 42, Sophie Devine 41*; Alana King 1-23, Heather Graham 1-23) by 6 wickets.
