Bangladesh Cricket Board president Aminul Islam, on Monday, said that he is expecting the presence of all the members of the Asian Cricket Council during the annual general meeting, scheduled in Dhaka on July 24.

India’s participation in the ACC AGM is uncertain due to the political climate prevailing in Bangladesh and there were reports that the AGM might be shifted from Dhaka to Dubai.

Aminul brushed aside all those speculation and insisted everything is going as per plan as far hosting the ACC AGM is concerned. “The Asian Cricket Council is the mother body or governing body of cricket in Asia, and previously we have never hosted a major meeting of the Asian Cricket Council,” Aminul told reporters on Monday.

“We will hold an official dinner on the 23rd and the ACC AGM in Dhaka on the 24th (July) in Dhaka where almost every country will participate,” he said. “This is a big achievement for us, and till now everything is going according to plan (as far as hosting the ACC meeting concerned), and you will receive further updates in due course,” he added.

It is understood that if no representative of India takes part in the ACC AGM in Dhaka, they may be available online. Meanwhile, Aminul insisted that the door is still open for Shakib al Hasan, who is implicated in lot of legal cases, to play for Bangladesh.

“Shakib is available as a cricketer. He hasn’t retired from all the formats for Bangladesh as yet,” said Aminul. “I will talk to him and we will make a decision after speaking with him. “I haven’t been in contact with Shakib for quite some time. Not since taking on this responsibility (as BCB president).

“I have said many times earlier, it (Shakib’s returning to the national team) entirely depends on the selectors of the Bangladesh team,” he said. “I haven’t been in contact with Shakib for quite some time. Not since taking on this responsibility (as BCB president). We haven’t had any formal communication with Shakib. I repeat, this is the job of the selectors and they will make the decision. My responsibility is to run the cricket board, not to select the team,” he said.
