All five Pakistan players picked for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 have now been confirmed following the players draft held yerterday. The tournament is scheduled to begin on August 15 and conclude with the final on September 22.
Veteran pacer Mohammad Amir headlines the list and will play for Trinbago Knight Riders. Amir, a seasoned T20 campaigner, has already featured in four CPL seasons and brings with him a tally of 51 wickets in 39 matches at an impressive average of 18.09. He is joined by fellow countryman Usman Tariq, who also joins Trinbago. Tariq is set for his first stint in an overseas T20 league after gaining attention in the PSL over the last two seasons.
All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has been picked by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and will make his CPL debut this season. Another familiar face is spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim, who returns to Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. Imad is the most experienced Pakistani player in CPL history, having played in seven seasons and 64 matches.
Meanwhile, Guyana Amazon Warriors have signed Hasan Khan. The spin all-rounder, based in Pakistan, is reportedly planning a move to USA cricket and will now get the chance to feature in the CPL.
The 13th edition of the Caribbean Premier League will feature six teams competing across 30 league-stage matches followed by four playoffs — the eliminator, two qualifiers, and the final. This season’s teams include defending champions St Lucia Kings, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Jamaica Tallawahs have been replaced ahead of the 2024 season.
