Northamptonshire County Cricket Club are pleased to confirm that George Scrimshaw has agreed a contract extension which will keep him at Wantage Road until the end of the 2027 season.
The 26-year-old’s previous deal ran through to 2026, but the tall seamer has now committed for an additional year.
“I’m absolutely delighted to extend my contract at Northamptonshire for another year as I have loved my time here so far.” Scrimshaw said.
Scrimshaw first joined the club in 2024 but was sidelined for the entire campaign with a back injury. He returned in style this season, taking 26 wickets during an impressive T20 campaign. Matching teammate Ben Sanderson, only two bowlers claimed more wickets in the Vitality Blast.
Scrimshaw continued: “After missing a year due to injury last season I’m very thankful to the club for showing faith in me. I’ll continue to put in the hard work to put the performances I know I can for the team.”
Standing at 6ft 7in and regularly bowling in excess of 90mph, Scrimshaw’s pace and knack for striking in key moments underlined his value to the Steelbacks attack.
