Rajat Patidar and Tilak Varma have been named captains for India A’s three-match one-day series against Australia A, beginning September 30 in Kanpur. Patidar will lead the side in the opening fixture at Green Park Stadium, while Tilak takes over for the second and third games on October 3 and 5, with Patidar serving as his deputy.

For the first one-dayer, Patidar will be joined by wicketkeepers Prabhsimran Singh and Abhishek Porel, along with Riyan Parag, Ayush Badoni, Suryansh Shedge, Vipraj Nigam, Nishant Sindhu, Priyansh Arya, Ravi Bishnoi, Gurjapneet Singh, Yudhvir Singh and Simarjeet Singh.

With the Asia Cup concluding on September 28, Varma will join the squad for the last two matches. The team also features Abhishek Sharma and additional pace options in Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, while retaining most of the core from the first game.

India A squad for the 1st one-day match: Rajat Patidar (Captain), Prabhsimran Singh (WK), Riyan Parag, Ayush Badoni, Suryansh Shedge, Vipraj Nigam, Nishant Sindhu, Gurjapneet Singh, Yudhvir Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Abhishek Porel (WK), Priyansh Arya, Simarjeet Singh.

India A squad for 2nd and 3rd one-day: Tilak Varma (Captain), Rajat Patidar (VC), Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh (WK), Riyan Parag, Ayush Badoni, Suryansh Shedge, Vipraj Nigam, Nishant Sindhu, Gurjapneet Singh, Yudhvir Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Abhishek Porel (WK), Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh.

This will be India A’s first one-day fixture in more than two years, with the previous one being the Asian Cricket Council Men’s Emerging Cup, 2023 final which they lost to Pakistan Shaheens. Abhishek Sharma, Nishant Sindhu, Riyan Parag and Harshit Rana were also part of that team.

1st One-Day: September 30, Kanpur, 1:30 PM IST

2nd One-Day: October 3, Kanpur, 1:30 PM IST

3rd One-Day: October 5, Kanpur, 1:30 PM IST
