Pakistan will host South Africa in a multi-format series beginning October 12, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Sunday. The tour will feature two Tests, marking the start of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle for both teams. South Africa come in as reigning WTC champions, having won the 2023-25 edition.
The Tests will be played in Lahore (October 12-16) and Rawalpindi (October 20-24). The teams will then contest six white-ball games, three T20Is and three ODIs. Rawalpindi will stage the first T20I on October 28, before the series shifts to Lahore for the remaining two matches on October 31 and November 1.
The ODIs are scheduled for Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium on November 4, 6 and 8. The venue will host an ODI after 17 years, last staging one in 2008 when Pakistan faced Bangladesh.
South Africa’s Test and T20I sides will be returning to Pakistan after four years, having lost 2-0 in their last Test series there in 2021. The ODI team was in the country earlier this year during the ICC Champions Trophy, where they reached the semifinals before losing to New Zealand.
