According to details, the selectors have distanced themselves from the issue of continuously playing Mohammad Haris despite his failures, and giving Abrar Ahmed his chance after considerable delay. Sources reveal that the selection committee has no say in deciding the playing XI—those choices are made by coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha.
Selection committee sources suggest that if Haris does not perform well, Sahibzada Farhan may be given the additional responsibility of wicketkeeping. It should be noted that former captain Rashid Latif has already criticized the idea of considering Sahibzada, an opening batter, as a wicketkeeper.
In the squad for the UAE tour, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Hussain Talat, and Khushdil Shah have yet to be given an opportunity to play. The team management also has limited options available.

On the other hand, the performance of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris in the T20 team has become a hot topic of discussion. In his last 10 matches, he crossed double figures only twice, with his highest score being 15. He has scored a total of 52 runs at an average of 5.77. During the Bangladesh tour, he batted at No. 3 in all three matches. Against the West Indies, he played on 8th position in the first game, then batted at No. 4 in the next two matches. In the ongoing Triangular Series, he has batted at No. 7 in the first three matches and at No. 5 in the fourth.
Some circles consider the constant changes in his batting position to be a factor behind his poor form. Sources further revealed that the selectors are also deeply concerned about Haris’ performance, but nothing can be changed during the tournament. For the future, some old and new wicketkeeping options are under consideration, though preparing new wicketkeepers will take time. Mohammad Rizwan, however, continues to remain part of the plans.
