Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 29-ball half-century powered Trent Rockets to their first victory of the season in the Women’s Hundred. Their 33-run win also snapped London Spirit’s unbeaten run in this edition.

Coming in after a 62-run opening stand, Sciver-Brunt struck 4 fours and 2 sixes in her unbeaten 51, her acceleration lifting Rockets to 149 for 6 in the allotted quota of 100 balls. Bryony Smith had given them a rapid start, cracking 42 off 23 balls while her opening partner Natasha Wraith made 20 but both fell in a set by Eva Gray.

Sciver-Brunt then added 60 with Ashleigh Gardner, whose 25 off 22 ensured the Rockets maintained momentum despite Gray finishing with figures of 4 for 19.

In reply, Spirit began steadily through a 26-run stand between Kira Chathli and Georgia Redmayne before Cordelia Griffith’s 20 off 11 injected some pace into the chase.

Kirstie Gordon added to the initial strikes with the wicket of Grace Harris and later went on to mop the tail to finish with 4 for 15, as Spirit were bowled out for 116 in 95 balls. Gardner and Heather Graham picked two wickets apiece.

Brief Scores: Trent Rockets 149/6 (Sciver-Brunt 51*; Gray 4-19) beat London Spirit 116 all out in 95 balls (Knott 33; Gordon 4-15) by 33 runs
