The schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be announced within the next 24 to 48 hours, according to reports from Indian media on Saturday.

This update comes after a recent Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting held in Dhaka, which was reportedly marked by tensions between India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

As per reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is the official host for this edition of the tournament, was tasked with finalising the schedule during the meeting. Sources have indicated that the schedule might be revealed in two parts—one on Saturday and the other on Monday—although there is a possibility that the full schedule could be released over the weekend.

The Asia Cup is likely to be held from September 10 to 28, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi expected to host the matches. The BCCI is currently working on finalising the draft schedule and completing commercial arrangements. While there may be slight changes to match dates, the overall time frame is likely to remain the same.

A total of eight teams will participate in the T20 format tournament: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman. The event will feature 19 matches, including the final, which is scheduled for the last Sunday of September.

India and Pakistan are expected to be placed in the same group, which could result in up to three matches between the arch-rivals—one in the group stage, one in the Super Four, and a possible final.

Earlier in May, rumours suggested that India might skip the Asia Cup 2025, but the BCCI quickly denied those reports. More recently, a promotional poster showing only India and Sri Lanka sparked speculation about Pakistan’s participation, especially given the political tensions between India and Pakistan.

However, as per the agreement between the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) last year, India and Pakistan can only face each other in neutral venues during ACC or ICC tournaments. Therefore, any potential clash between the two will not be played on Indian soil.
