Woakes, Kamindu join MI Emirates; English duo head to ADKR

Dubai Capitals have signed Luke Wood, Waqar Salamkheil and Muhammad Jawadullah for Season 4 of ILT20. The new signings join Dasun Shanaka, Dushmantha Chameera, Gulbadin Naib, Rovmann Powell and Shai Hope, who have been retained from the last season by the defending champions.

MI Emirates have taken Chris Woakes and Kamindu Mendis to be part of a side that will have AM Ghazanfar, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Kusal Perera, Romario Shepherd, Tom Banton and Muhammad Waseem. Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have added Alex Hales, Liam Livingstone and Sherfane Rutherford to the squad of Alishan Sharafu, Andre Russell, Charith Asalanka, Phil Salt and Sunil Narine.

The ILT20 organisers released the first phase of squad selection process for Season 4 on Monday (July 7). Each team will be allowed a squad of 23 and eight of them can be either retained or directly signed. For the first time ever, the league will have an auction, where the teams can fill the squads. The salary cap is 2 million USD.

Season 4 of the six-team league 34-match will run from December 4 to January 2.

List of players retained and signed:

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders: Alishan Sharafu, Andre Russell, Charith Asalanka, Phil Salt, Sunil Narine(retained), Alex Hales, Liam Livingstone and Sherfane Rutherford (signed).

Desert Vipers: Dan Lawrence, David Payne, Khuzaima Bin Tanveer, Lockie Ferguson, Max Holden, Sam Curran, Wanindu Hasaranga (retained)and Andries Gous (signed).

Dubai Capitals: Dasun Shanaka, Dushmantha Chameera, Gulbadin Naib, Rovmann Powell, Shai Hope(retained), Luke Wood, Waqar Salamkheil and Muhammad Jawadullah (signed).

Gulf Giants: Aayan Afzal Khan, Blessing Muzarabani, Gerhard Erasmus, James Vince, Mark Adair (retained), Azmatullah Omarzai, Moeen Ali, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (signed).

MI Emirates: AM Ghazanfar, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Kusal Perera, Romario Shepherd, Tom Banton, Muhammad Waseem(retained), Chris Woakes and Kamindu Mendis (signed).

Sharjah Warriorz:Johnson Charles, Kusal Mendis, Tim Southee, Tom Kohler-Cadmore (retained), Maheesh Theekshana, Sikandar Raza, Saurabh Netravalkar and Tim David (signed).
