England have added yet another pacer – Gus Atkinson – to their squad for the third Test of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, to be played from July 10 at Lord’s in London.

Atkinson played the last of his 12 Tests for England in May against Zimbabwe. He failed to make it to the team for the marquee series against India as he was recovering from a hamstring problem sustained in the Zimbabwe Test, which also forced him to miss the ODIs against West Indies.

England Squad for 3rd Test against India: Ben Stokes (C), Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes

The remainder of the English squad is the same as announced ahead of the second Test. The hosts had recalled Jofra Archer ahead of the Edgbaston game but the wait for the pacer’s return to whites prolonged after England decided to go in unchanged after the opening win.

After India’s statement 336-run win in Birmingham earlier today, the five-match series is now level at 1-1. England had won the first Test in Leeds by 5 wickets. The fourth and fifth Tests will be played at Old Trafford (July 23) and the Oval (July 31).
