Seattle Orcas made it two wins in two days, chasing down 203 against Los Angeles Knight Riders to move up to fourth on the table. Shimron Hetmyer was once again the stand-out player, finishing unbeaten on 64 off 26 and hitting the winning six off the penultimate ball.

The run chase began poorly though, with Josh Brown falling for a two-ball duck in the first over. But Aaron Jones, promoted to No.3, and Shayan Jahangir steadied things with a 119-run stand for the second wicket as Jones played the aggressor, scoring 73 off 38 balls and Jahangir knocked it around for 43 off 31.

Both batters fell in the space of five balls as Orcas lost three wickets for eight runs, including that of Heinrich Klaasen. Hetmyer came in with 77 runs needed from 47 balls and kept the scoreboard ticking while hitting Ali Khan, Tanveer Sangha and Jason Holder for boundaries at key moments.

With 13 needed off the last two overs, Andre Russell coincided eight runs in the 19th over, including a boundary to Hetmyer off a full toss. With only five needed off the last over, Shadley van Schalkwyk bowled a few tight balls before Hetmyer launched a full toss over long-on to seal the win.

Earlier, Knight Riders posted 202 for 4 after a slow start. They were 66 for 3 at the halfway mark before Andre Russell lifted the innings with an unbeaten 65 off 39 balls. Saif Badar scored 41 off 21 and Rovman Powell added 43 not out off 21, each hitting four sixes.

Knight Riders have now lost three in a row and remain glued to the bottom of the table.

Brief Scores: Los Angeles Knight Riders 202/4 (Russell 65*, Powell 43*, Badar 41; Salamkheil 2-29) lost to Seattle Orcas 206/5 in 19.5 overs (Jones 73, Hetmyer 64*; Holder 2-36, Sangha 2-39) by five wickets
