India captain Rohit Sharma shared a funny moment from the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match during the T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit, who led India to glory in the 2024 World Cup, revealed how the electric atmosphere at the stadium—and Ravi Shastri’s energetic commentary—caused him to forget he had the toss coin in his own pocket.

“I’ll tell you what is happening. Look at him. In the blue, it’s Rohit Sharma ready to punch. In the green, it’s ready to counterpunch. These all things were happening there, so obviously it’s fun,” Rohit mimicked Shastri’s enthusiastic description during the pre-toss build-up.

He continued, “In the middle of everything, Ravi Shastri’s energy and all the noise—I forgot the coin that I had for the toss!”

Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who was standing beside Rohit, noticed the confusion and reminded him about the coin. Babar even asked the match referee for the coin before telling Rohit he had it in his pocket.

India went on to defeat Pakistan in the group-stage encounter and eventually won their second T20 World Cup title. They triumphed over South Africa by seven runs in a nail-biting final, successfully defending a target of 176.

Virat Kohli, who had struggled for form throughout the tournament, delivered when it mattered most—scoring a match-winning 76 off 59 balls in the final.
