Mohammed Shami created an unwanted record by bowling the most expensive spell by an Indian in the Indian Premier League during the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings on Saturday.

In his four-over quota, Shami conceded a whopping 74 runs as Punjab Kings reached 245-6 at the end of 20 overs after opting to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. His spell saw six fours and seven sixes being hit.

Overall, Jofra Archer tops the list of most expensive spells as he conceded 76 runs against SRH during Rajasthan Royals’ season opener at this venue. Mohit Sharma, Basil Thampi and Yash Dayal complete the top five most expensive spells list.
