Pakistan make seven changes to Test squad after England series defeat ahead of final Test at Edgbaston | Cricket News

Pakistan have dropped seven players and two coaches from their touring squad following their series defeat to England and ahead of the final Test at Edgbaston.

Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq – injured during the second Test defeat at Lord’s – Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad have all been sent home.

Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul have also been released and will be replaced by Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke in the backroom staff.

Seven replacements have been called up to the squad, including five uncapped players at Test level, with batters Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal having eight and two Test appearances, respectively.

Left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Arafat Minhas has represented Pakistan in white-ball cricket, with left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Imran Jnr, wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig and pace-bowling all-rounders Mohammad Imran (also known as Imran Randhawa) and Razaullah the others brought in.

Pakistan lost by 194 runs at Lord’s, following an innings-and-103-run drubbing in the series opener at Headingley.

They go into the final Test of the series at Edgbaston – live on Sky Sports Cricket from Wednesday, September 9 – looking to avoid a 3-0 whitewash.
