Maiden Champions Trophy a ‘great opportunity’, feels Perry | ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, 2026

Perry continued her good form from the T20 World Cup when leading the Birmingham Phoenix during England’s recent domestic The Hundred competition, with the right-hander once again finishing the event inside the top 10 for leading run-scorers.

It bodes well for Perry as Australia get set to host Bangladesh and New Zealand for a white-ball series at home this summer, with the inaugural ICC Champions Trophy event also on the horizon early next year in what is a busy upcoming period for women’s cricket.

“It is another great opportunity for the women’s game and for all the teams competing,” Perry told JioStar about the maiden edition of the Champions Trophy next year.

“From my perspective, it is a new event, so it is always exciting to be a part of something like that, and a new spot on the calendar, which will be great for everyone. You want to play every game well.

“This tournament will be physically and mentally a huge challenge, and preparing for those matches, everyone’s going to have to be spot on. But yeah, the mindset remains the same, you just want to win every game.”
