Northamptonshire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that leg-spinner Calvin Harrison has signed a new two-year contract extension with the Club.
The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal that will run until the end of the 2029 season.
“I’m really happy to be extending my time here at Northamptonshire.” Harrison said.
“It’s a brilliant dressing room with a top-class spirit, and Boof and all the staff have been excellent so I’m looking forward to continuing my time at the club.”
In his first season as a permanent Northamptonshire player, Harrison has been excellent across all three areas of the game and has emerged as a key player for the Club.
Batting at three in County Championship, Harrison has accumulated 477 runs at average on just under 40. He’s hit two centuries and a match-winning 92* against Gloucestershire.
With 18 wickets across the Blast this year, the spinner currently sits as the Steelbacks second highest wicket taker in the competition, and he also recorded T20 career-best bowling figures of 5/9 against Essex last month.
Head Coach Darren Lehmann praised Harrison’s impact since joining the Club.
“We’re extremely happy that Calvin has re-signed with us for a further 2 years, he’s been a really important player for us since coming from Notts.”
“He’s a leader in the group and a player that continues to strive for excellence on and off the field. It’s another important signing for us moving forward as we develop our squad for the future.”
