Birmingham Phoenix are delighted to confirm the signing of Lauren Filer ahead of the 2026 season of The Hundred.
The talented fast bowler joins Phoenix Women as the squad continues to shape a competitive and dynamic unit for the upcoming campaign, following the retention of Ellyse Perry and the signing of former MI London all-rounder Alice Capsey.
Filer, 25, has emerged as one of England’s most promising pace bowlers, with her performances across domestic and international cricket having caught widespread attention, and the Phoenix are excited to add her skillset to their bowling attack.
In recent seasons, Filer has impressed with both her wicket-taking ability and her consistency. In the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup, she has been among the leading wicket-takers for her county, while also impressing in The Hundred for London Spirit, Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire.
Filer has also featured for England on the international stage, where her performances have underlined her potential as a mainstay of the pace attack. Her pace and capability in all conditions make her a valuable asset in the fast-paced format of The Hundred.
“I’m really pleased to be joining Birmingham Phoenix,” said Filer. “The Hundred is an exciting tournament and I’ve always loved playing at Edgbaston where the atmosphere is incredible. I can’t wait to get started with the team, bowl in front of the Phoenix fans, and contribute to what I know will be a strong season.”
Women’s Head Coach Ali Maiden added: “Lauren is an exciting young bowler with genuine pace and real competitiveness in her game. She brings an aggressive mindset and control that we believe will be crucial in The Hundred. We’re delighted to welcome her to Phoenix Women and look forward to seeing her impact throughout the 2026 season.”
Filer’s arrival strengthens Phoenix’s pace bowling resources as the franchise builds a well-balanced squad in what promises to be another thrilling edition of The Hundred.
