Australian Adam Voges, 46, who amassed more than 5,000 runs across all formats during five summers at Trent Bridge, is set to return to the club as assistant to newly appointed head coach Peter Moores.

Voges arrives with an impressive leadership record, having guided Western Australia to three straight Sheffield Shield titles and four One Day Cup crowns during his seven-year tenure in charge.

The first of those Shield wins, in 2022, was WA’s first in 23 years, and came in the same season in which Voges also led the state to the first of three back-to-back One Day Cup triumphs.

Additionally, he has twice led Perth Scorchers to the Big Bash title, having taken on the franchise side’s top job in conjunction with his appointment as WA coach in 2018.

Adam Voges said: “I’m thrilled to be returning to Trent Bridge to take up my first coaching role in The Hundred, which is a great competition.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time with Western Australia, and it was an honour to lead my home state, especially with the success we had, but the potential for a new experience is exciting.”

“The Hundred is obviously seeing a real boost with the new investment that’s going in ahead of next year, and it feels like a great time to be joining,” continued Voges.

“I’ve got a huge amount of respect for Peter Moores, and I can’t wait to get over to England and work alongside him to put the Rockets in the best spot for success.”

Trent Rockets Director of Cricket, Mick Newell, added: “We’re really pleased to add Adam to our men’s coaching staff.

“His experience and the success he’s had so far, especially with Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash, speak for themselves, and his existing relationship with Trent Bridge means he can hit the ground running.

“He’s a marvellous addition to our team, and we can’t wait to welcome him back to Nottingham as we head towards our new era.”
