Durham have confirmed that rising stars Tom Mustard and Ben Robinson have signed new contracts, extending their stays at the Club for at least the next two seasons.

A talented wicketkeeper-batter, Newcastle-born Mustard has already made two first-class and 16 white-ball appearances for Durham. The 19-year-old impressed with the bat during this summer’s One Day Cup, closing in on 250 professional runs before an injury brought his campaign to an early end.

Mustard made both his first-class and professional T20 debuts during Durham’s 2024 pre-season tour of Zimbabwe, where he played a key role in the Club’s T20 final victory over the Eagles, finishing unbeaten on 46*.

Sunderland-born seamer Ben Robinson also featured in this year’s One Day Cup, making three appearances after a strong start to the season with Durham’s Second XI, where he claimed five wickets in five matches.

The 21-year-old has now made 12 white-ball appearances for Durham since breaking through in 2023, when he marked his T20 debut with figures of 2/28 against Leicestershire, removing Lewis Hill and Rishi Patel in an impressive first outing.

Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “We are very pleased to announce that two of our current rookie players have extended their contracts with us. We look forward to supporting their development further over the next two years.”

On extending, Robinson said: “It’s a privilege to be able to sign a multi-year deal at my boyhood club.

“I love playing for Durham, and knowing I have another two years here is an amazing feeling.

“I can’t wait for the next two seasons with this special club, and I look forward to showcasing what I can do.”

Haydon Mustard added: “I’m really pleased to be signing a new contract with Durham.

“I’ve loved my time here so far and I’m excited for what the next two years will bring.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute to the team and building on what we’ve started.”
