India starts fueling rift within ACC over Asia Cup trophy dispute

India has started sowing the seeds of conspiracy within the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). According to sources, the organization has split into two groups. Meanwhile, the BCCI, despite becoming champions, is furious over not receiving the trophy. The matter remains unresolved, and Mohsin Naqvi has become a thorn in India’s side. A no-confidence motion against him is expected.

Details suggest that the Asia Cup trophy issue remains unsettled. The ACC President stands firm on his position that the Indian captain should come to the office to collect it from him. Meanwhile, the Indian board, despite being champions, is enraged over not receiving the trophy. Initially, it had instructed its captain, Suryakumar Yadav, not to receive the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. Now, however, they are restless to get it.

Sources revealed that the PCB Chairman has become an irritant for India, prompting them to try to create rifts within the ACC. The council has now clearly split into two groups. Among Test nations, Bangladesh sides with Pakistan, while Sri Lanka is with India. Afghanistan keeps switching sides. During the Asia Cup final, no top Sri Lankan official was present in solidarity with the Indian board, but Bangladesh board chief Aminul Islam did share the stage with Mohsin Naqvi during the prize distribution ceremony. He handed the runners-up cheque to Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha.

To sour relations with BCB, Indian media spread propaganda claiming that Salman threw the cheque away. However, board sources clarified that no captain conducts interviews while holding a big cheque; they all put it aside, though this is rarely shown on camera. Since the broadcaster was Indian, they deliberately aired it. With the PCB Chairman present, Salman could never have disrespected such important personalities.

Sources also claimed that the BCCI intends to move a no-confidence motion against Mohsin Naqvi in the ACC. However, PCB sources stressed that they are ready to thwart every negative tactic of India and will give a strong response. Previously, the BCCI had tried its utmost to shift the ACC meeting out of Dhaka, but Pakistan’s cricket diplomacy prevailed, and all members participated. Even the BCCI, despite its humiliation, did not boycott the meeting. A similar outcome is expected this time if any negative moves are attempted.

Meanwhile, the trophy is still in Dubai. Indian media has churned out fabricated stories, including claims that the ACC President apologized. Mohsin Naqvi dismissed these rumors through a social media post, saying: “Indian media runs on lies, not truth. I want to make it absolutely clear that I have done nothing wrong, and I never have nor ever will apologize to the BCCI. These baseless claims are just cheap propaganda meant to mislead their own people.”

He added: “Unfortunately, India keeps dragging politics into cricket, which damages the true spirit of the game. As ACC President, I was ready to hand over the trophy on the day of the final and still am today. If they really want it, they are welcome to come to the ACC office and receive it from me.”
